About The Position

The Department of Mathematics is seeking Instructional Student Assistant (ISA) applicants for the mathematics program. The department is seeking qualified students for grading positions as Instructional Student Assistant for courses that are appropriate in our curriculum in any given semester. Students need to apply each semester. Faculty recommendations are welcomed. Anticipated Appointment Dates: This position is open until it is filled. If you have applied and no other positions are available, you will be notified. Fall 2026: August 17, 2026 – December 19, 2026 Spring 2027: January 20, 2027 – May 26, 2027 Hours: 0-20 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Minimum GPA 3.0
  • Must have completed courses with a B or higher in which opening exists.

  • Solid writing and speaking skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instructional support to assigned instructors in mathematics by grading papers in a variety of mathematics courses or facilitating group work and discussions.
  • Assist the instructor in lab/activity sessions, and/or perform other duties as assigned by the Department Chair in consultation with an appropriate faculty member.
  • Department’s website management.
  • Canvas management.
  • Perform individual and/or group academic support.

Benefits

  • The Salary range for Instructional Student Assistants starts at $17.86 per an hour.
