About The Position

Achievers Early College Prep is seeking to expand its team of dedicated teachers by hiring Instructional Math Coaches for grades 6-12. The role of an Instructional Coach is to be a catalyst for teachers, helping them identify and implement effective tools and strategies to improve student outcomes. Coaches will demonstrate expert content knowledge in Math, possess extensive knowledge of Math interventions, and regularly analyze data to refine curriculum and inform instructional practices. They will provide coaching to teachers, focusing on their growth and implementing techniques for increased student engagement and checking for understanding. Coaches will also work with teachers to analyze student data for differentiated instruction and progress tracking, ensure consistent research-based curriculum implementation aligned with standards, conduct daily observations, model and practice with teachers, plan and execute feedback meetings for teacher development, and support the implementation of action steps. Additionally, coaches will provide real-time feedback during instruction, contribute to mid-year reviews, plan and deliver high-quality professional development, and organize and lead content-area staff meetings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required
  • 3+ years working in classrooms and coaching teachers, preferably in urban schools and/or communities, with a proven record of strong academic achievement
  • Demonstrated history of collaboration- building trust with staff.
  • Adept interpersonal and communication skills with diverse audiences
  • Familiarity with Google Classroom and virtual meeting platforms
  • Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues
  • Valid NJ Teacher Certification in Math or related subject

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree is preferred
  • preferably in urban schools and/or communities

Responsibilities

  • Ensure consistent, research-based curriculum implementation aligned with standards.
  • Conduct daily observations, model and practice with teachers, plan/execute feedback meetings that lead to teacher development, and support implementation of action steps
  • Provide real-time feedback to teachers during instruction and contribute to teachers' mid-year reviews
  • Plan and deliver high-quality professional development that trains teachers in systems and key pedagogical strategies
  • Plan and execute team meetings for content-area staff
