About The Position

BerryDunn’s Medicaid Practice Group is seeking an Instructional Designer with knowledge of instructional design and performance support. As part of our consulting team focused on state and territory Medicaid agency clients, you will leverage problem-solving skills while leveraging your creative skills to help Medicaid agencies improve the health and lives of individuals. You will be the success partner for Medicaid agencies in building healthier communities and stronger futures. Your initial focus will be helping create learning content for our client in the U.S. territory of Guam. You will report to and partner with senior management in our Medicaid team both for client work and career development. With a growth mindset, you will drive your development with the support of a learning and development culture. This position is planned to sit remotely to support our Guam client. Successful candidates should be willing to support Guam, which will minimally require supporting the client from 8 am to 12 pm Tuesday through Friday Chamorro Standard Time (ChST). Travel Expectations: Travel to Guam is expected to be occasional. Future clients may require travel of up to 50%

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience, Masters preferred
  • 5+ years professional experience in a development environment role
  • Demonstrated instructional design experience required, broad ADDIE application
  • Experience using established tools, templates, and repositories to design and develop trainings.
  • Demonstrated experience in training, instructional design, and course development.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with project managers, teammates, and clients; strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Track record of meeting deadlines, balancing competing priorities, and managing multiple projects.
  • Ability to accept and incorporate critical feedback with professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Experience developing e‑learning with Articulate Rise 360 and Storyline 360; creating media with Vyond, Camtasia, and Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom/Express.
  • Working knowledge of an LMS for publishing and managing e‑learning content.
  • Strong organization, time management, attention to detail, and adherence to branding and formatting standards.
  • Creative problem‑solving and original design thinking within defined constraints.
  • Office365 experience

Responsibilities

  • Convert storyboards, PowerPoints (PPTs), job aids, desk references, and quick reference guides into trainings (including e-learnings) that achieve defined objectives and engage learners.
  • Apply sound instructional design principles that reflect how self‑paced e‑learning differs from instructor‑led (in‑person) and virtual trainings, ensuring appropriate pacing, interaction, and cognitive load.
  • Partner with project managers, teammates, and clients to clarify requirements, align on scope and timelines, and provide proactive status updates.
  • Receive and act on critical feedback constructively; deliver timely, appropriate updates based on Project Manager and client review cycles.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, plan your work, and consistently deliver on schedule.
  • Follow strict branding, formatting, accessibility, and quality‑assurance guidelines across all deliverables.
  • Design and develop programs in alignment with the client’s vision, organizational goals, and training needs identified from various need assessments and analysis.
  • Research client goals and identify opportunities to further these goals.
  • Produce or integrate video, animations, screen recordings, graphics, and images using the appropriate tools (Vyond, Eleven Labs, Camtasia, Adobe Applications).
  • Organize project files, versions, and change logs; maintain reusable components and lessons learned to improve future projects.
  • Create development programs using an array of design approaches supporting 70/20/10 methodology: self-study, practice, performance support, knowledge sharing, experience activities, and other supporting material/media (e.g., audio, video, simulations, role-plays, games ).
  • Incorporate knowledge of group dynamics and change management processes into work environment.
  • Apply influencing skills in a range of complex situations, adapting style, and leading others to see alternative perspectives.
