The Training Department is comprised of 3 training components that support the Engineering & Nuclear Safety Programs at N3B: Site Training, Environmental Remediation and Contact Handled-Transuranic Waste (CH-TRU). The primary mission of N3B is to protect the environment and remove legacy waste off the Los Alamos site. The Instructional Designer is responsible for the design and delivery of programs to train all levels of N3B workforce (approximately 650 employees). The Instructional Designer employs the ADDIE process and the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT) to identify training needs, assess existing training programs, analyze gaps, and produce various learning products. The position works with internal customers, stakeholders and regulators, ensuring that all training programs meet customer needs, regulatory drivers, and contractual requirements. This position reports to the N3B Training Manager. This position is subject to DOE Order 426.2, Personnel Selection, Training, and Qualification Requirements for DOE Nuclear Facilities, which establishes entry-level requirements to ensure candidates selected for specific positions can successfully perform the requirements of the job.
