Requirements

  • Master's degree in education, educational psychology, or the humanities (e.g., history, political science, literature, journalism, communications, philosophy) AND six (6) months of experience in professional writing or editing, audiovisual design and/or production, design and/or production of evaluation tools, educational programming, curriculum development, or classroom teaching.
  • OR Baccalaureate degree in education, educational psychology, or the humanities AND eighteen (18) months of experience in professional writing or editing, audiovisual design and/or production, design and/or production of evaluation tools, educational programming, curriculum development, or classroom teaching.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design or related field.
  • 1 year of experience with instructional design & online/hybrid learning strategies and implementation, preferably in Higher Ed.
  • 1 year of experience with academic technologies and their application.
  • 1 year of experience with content development systems and processes, preferably using Articulate to produce resources and objects.
  • 1 year of experience supporting LMSs, preferably Blackboard.
  • 1 year of experience training, preferably in Higher Ed.
  • 1 year of professional experience using WIN & MAC OSs and Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to manage numerous projects concurrently and meet appropriate deadlines.
  • Experience in a collaborative atmosphere, excellent brainstorming capabilities, detail-oriented, and the ability to accept constructive criticism.
  • Self-motivated and flexible in accepting duties & instruction.
  • Experience with web page design concepts, multimedia design skills, digital video and audio, and other relevant technologies.
  • Ability to learn complex new technologies quickly & independently.
  • Ability to explain complex ideas & technologies to non-technical people in a clear & understandable manner.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a variety of settings with people with a wide range of knowledge, skills, & experience.
  • Excellent time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with faculty members on instructional design projects, providing guidance on course design, development, and delivery.
  • Offers curricular strategies and best practices for online, hybrid, and face-to-face course formats.
  • Provides instruction, consultations, workshops, and resources to enhance faculty teaching skills and approaches.
  • Researches current trends in online learning and educational technologies, identifies pedagogical applications, and collaborates with faculty on integration into curricula.
  • Supports faculty and student users of learning management systems and related learning technologies.
  • Designs and coordinates training workshops, programs, and resources for faculty, staff, and students on pedagogical topics.
  • Partners with faculty and campus units to ensure online/hybrid and technology-enhanced courses meet applicable standards and regulations.
  • Assists in developing policies for online/hybrid courses and programs, and establishes evaluation procedures for continuous improvement.
  • Serves as a liaison to ACCESS to facilitate resolution of accessibility-related accommodation and content remediation requests.
