About The Position

Instructional Assistant IIIs support our severe/emotionally disturbed students. We are looking for candidates with any combination of experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties. This role involves working with students who have a Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs. Students designated as an emotionally disturbed (ED) class or an autism class or assigned to a Behaviorist to assist individual students. Experience working with groups of children; experience working with impaired children or adults highly desirable; coursework in child development highly desirable.

Requirements

Relevant experience as detailed in the application.
Provide required documentation.
Pass SJUSD's Proficiency Exam (April 2005 to current) OR pass CBEST OR provide official transcripts demonstrating completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units) OR provide proof of an A.A. degree (or higher).
If foreign degree/transcripts, coursework must be evaluated for equivalency to a U.S. accredited college or university.
Possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license (in some programs).
