About The Position

The Instructional Assistant II (.75 FTE/6 hours) at Starr King is a part-time, permanent position within the Support Staff & Services category, specifically in Instructional Support. This role involves working with students who have mild/moderate disabilities, including those served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. Typical duties include conducting small group activities, assisting students in large groups in both Special Day Class and General Education settings, and supporting the teacher's needs. The position is located at Starr King K-8 School, which is designated as a High-Needs School.

Requirements

Experience relevant to the position.
Working with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap or Communicatively Handicap programs.
Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam (testing date must be April 2005 to current).
Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
OFFICIAL transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units).
Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher).
If degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, coursework must be evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts from an accredited U.S. college or university.
Possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license (in some programs).
