About The Position

This is a permanent, part-time/full-time position for an Instructional Assistant II working 6 hours per day, 0.75 FTE, at the Gold River Discovery Center. The role involves working with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs, including running small groups, assisting students in large groups in Special Day Class and General Education settings, and supporting teacher needs. The position is for the Elementary Instructional Assistant - Calendar 18A, which spans 9 months/year, 206 days/year, 5 days/week. The work hours are Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM.

Requirements

Any combination of experience and training which provides the candidate with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties.
Possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam (April 2005 to current) OR Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
Passing the IA Proficiency Test or having the CBEST is required, regardless of educational background.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with groups of children.

Responsibilities
