About The Position

Instructional Assistant II's work with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. This role involves supporting teachers by running small groups, assisting students in large groups within Special Day Class settings or General Education, and other related duties. The district is looking for candidates with any combination of experience and training that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties. In some programs, possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license may be necessary.

Requirements

  • List on application experience that is relevant to this position.
  • Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam (testing date must be April 2005 to current; no other school districts' proficiency exam accepted).
  • Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
  • OFFICIAL transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units).
  • Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher). If degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, coursework must be evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts from an accredited U.S. college or university.
  • Applications must be complete, include requested information in place of stating 'see resume', and be signed.

Nice To Haves

  • Willingness and ability to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.
