About The Position

The Instructional Assistant Deaf/Hard of Hearing will provide support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing at Will Rogers Middle School. This is a part-time, permanent position with a 7-hour workday, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The position is part of the Secondary Elementary Instructional Assistant team and follows a 9-month calendar, working 206 days per year. The salary range is $19.51 - $24.55 per hour, and benefits are included. Applicants must pre-qualify by attaching specific documentation related to proficiency exams or college education.

Requirements

  • Must pre-qualify by attaching one documentation [A, B, C, or D item] from the following list: [A] Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam - testing date must be April 2005 to current. No other school districts proficiency exam accepted.
  • [B] Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
  • [C] OFFICIAL transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units)
  • [D] Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher). If your degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, YOU MUST have coursework evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts received from an accredited United States college or university.
