About The Position

Instructional Assistant II's work with students served in Resource, Learning Handicap, or Communicatively Handicap programs. This role involves supporting students in various settings, including small group and large group activities, within Special Day Class settings or General Education classrooms, and assisting teachers with their needs. The district is looking for candidates with relevant experience and training that equip them with the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job duties. Some programs may require possession of, or willingness and ability to obtain, a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire or before driving any equipment/vehicle requiring this license.

Requirements

Must pre-qualify by attaching one documentation [A, B, C, or D item] from the following list: [A] Passing score from SJUSD's Proficiency Exam - testing date must be April 2005 to current. No other school districts proficiency exam accepted.
[B] Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST)
[C] OFFICIAL transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units)
[D] Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher). If your degree/transcripts are from a foreign college or university, YOU MUST have coursework evaluated for its equivalency to a degree/transcripts received from an accredited United States college or university.
