About The Position

This role is for an eager self-starter who loves to troubleshoot and fix things, looking for a career with quick advancement and control over income. As a Garage Door Installer, you will receive training to quickly become proficient with your own company vehicle and a stream of customers. The company will provide training and all necessary tools for career growth. You will be responsible for repairing, replacing, and installing garage doors, ensuring customers understand their service options. Requirements

  • Mechanical aptitude and technical skills.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds independently.
  • Ability to bend, climb, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in heat and cold, both outdoors and inside garages.
  • Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with customers and solve issues.
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Reliability and ability to serve customers following the company process.
  • Computer and/or tablet proficiency; comfort with technology.
  • Ability to use hand tools and operate mechanical equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the garage door industry is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Repairing and installing garage door parts and equipment on-site at customer locations.
  • Diagnosing and repairing garage doors and door operators.
  • Replacing worn or broken door parts.
  • Installing new equipment including doors.
  • Replacing springs.
  • Explaining repair options to customers in detail, helping them understand the issue and how to prevent future problems.
  • Reviewing and explaining completed work to customers.
  • Selling services, repairs, and new equipment using a proven training model (good/better/best).
  • Collecting payment from customers.
  • Managing inventory of equipment, tools, and products in the company vehicle.
  • Maximizing time by addressing customer needs, offering solutions, and managing the schedule to serve as many customers as possible.
  • Ensuring quality work is done correctly the first time.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Committing to safety in driving and work practices.
