About The Position

FASTSIGNS of Akron is seeking an experienced installer to take responsibility for the field side of its business. The Installation Specialist leads projects from site visits through final walkthroughs, operates the company installation truck, and maintains installation equipment. The role includes installing a variety of signs, coordinating with sales, production, and management, and supporting shop work when the schedule allows.

Requirements

Some experience with sign installation, construction, or skilled trades.
Comfort using power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and hydraulic lifts.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Mechanical aptitude and ability to notice and address equipment issues.
Organized, reliable, and professional when working with customers.
Ability to manage several projects at once.
Ability to lift 75 pounds or more, stand, kneel, and climb for extended periods, and work outdoors in a range of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

Lead on-site installation of signs, including channel letters, cabinets, and panel signs, as well as light electrical work.
Conduct advance site visits and relay information needed by production and sales for accurate quoting and fabrication.
Work with sales to estimate labor time, establish realistic deadlines, and keep customers and staff informed as projects progress.
Coordinate with management on the installation schedule and meet scheduled commitments.
Conduct quality checks to ensure each job is installed correctly and completely.
Operate the company installation truck, van, and lift; perform routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles and installation equipment.
Follow industry safety practices and operate tools and equipment safely.
Track installation inventory and identify items that need to be reordered.
Assist with sign production, material handling, and shop upkeep when the schedule allows.
