About The Position

FASTSIGNS of Akron is seeking an experienced installer to manage field installation work from site visits through final walkthroughs. The role leads installations of a variety of signs, operates the company installation truck, and keeps installation vehicles and equipment ready for use. The specialist coordinates with sales, production, customers, and management to support accurate quoting and fabrication, realistic schedules, and complete, quality installations. When the schedule allows, the role also assists with sign production, material handling, and shop upkeep.

Requirements

• Some experience with sign installation, construction, or skilled trades.
• Comfortable using power tools, ladders, scaffolding, and hydraulic lifts.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Mechanically inclined and attentive to equipment maintenance and repairs.
• Organized, reliable, and professional with customers.
• Able to manage several projects at once.
• Able to lift 75+ lbs and stand, kneel, and climb for extended periods.
• Able to work outdoors in a range of weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site installation of signs, including channel letters, cabinets, and panel signs, as well as light electrical work.
• Conduct advance site visits and relay information needed by production and sales for accurate quoting and fabrication.
• Work with sales to estimate labor time and establish realistic deadlines.
• Keep customers and staff informed as projects progress.
• Coordinate with management on the installation schedule and meet scheduled commitments.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure each job is installed correctly and completely.
• Operate the company installation truck, van, and lift; perform routine vehicle maintenance and minor repairs on vehicles and installation equipment.
• Follow industry safety practices and operate tools and equipment safely.
• Track installation inventory and flag items that need to be reordered.
• Assist with sign production, material handling, and shop upkeep when the schedule allows.
