About The Position

The Inspector is responsible for ensuring finished goods meet or exceed customer expectations by identifying and classifying defects, verifying packaging parameters against specifications, alerting the Operator to defects, and safely performing required rework. The role promotes a safe working environment by following safety policies and procedures, inspecting work areas for unsafe acts or conditions, and maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

The Inspector supports production and maintenance activities through housekeeping, organizing, packing and transporting or erecting corrugated materials, performing rework, assisting with bottle grinding during machine startup, clearing downstream jams, and cleaning around machines and grinders. When a line is down, the Inspector cleans the entire line area and may assist Maintenance with housekeeping around machines undergoing planned maintenance. The position requires multitasking in a fast-paced environment and attention to detail.

Requirements

• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds continuously throughout the shift.
• Work involves continuous lifting, bending, reaching, and twisting.
• Must have the cognitive and mental ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
• Ensure finished goods meet or exceed customer expectations.
• Find and classify typical defects as critical, major, or minor.
• Alert the Operator to defects so they can be addressed.
• Verify that packaging parameters meet the specifications sheet.
• Safely perform required rework.
• Perform housekeeping duties and keep the work area clean; clean the entire line area when a line goes down.
• Assist with housekeeping, organizing, packing, transporting and erecting corrugated materials, and performing rework as needed.
• Safely assist the Operator with grinding bottles during machine startup and clearing downstream jams.
• Perform housekeeping around the machine, including grinders, downstream areas, and under the takeouts.
• Assist the Maintenance department with housekeeping on and around machines down for planned maintenance.
• Evaluate and take appropriate action to maintain a safe work environment according to established standards and guidelines.
• Inspect work areas for unsafe acts or conditions.
• Use verbal and written communication effectively.
• Perform sweeping, cleaning, and sorting duties as necessary.
• Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and procedures.
