About The Position

Manchester Tank is seeking an Inspector/Tester to join their team. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, schedules, or product specifications to determine testing procedures. The Inspector/Tester will inspect and test cylinders for visual and structural defects, place and remove fittings according to protocol, and reject defective parts. The position requires working at different workstations as production needs require, setting up and operating machines, and monitoring finished products and machine operations to ensure quality and identify any defects or malfunctions. The role also includes operating lifting devices, participating in safety and environmental improvement efforts, and adhering to all EHS guidelines and procedures, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions. Reporting unsafe conditions or incidents and shutting down processes if unsafe are critical responsibilities. Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality are expected.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, schedules, or product specifications to determine procedures for testing.
  • Inspects cylinders for visual defects.
  • Tests cylinders for structural defects.
  • Place and remove fittings from the cylinders by following appropriate protocol.
  • Rejects defective parts, and marks defects accordingly.
  • Works at different work stations as production needs require.
  • Sets up and operates machines according to the specifications.
  • Monitor the finished products obtained to ensure the quality conforms to the specifications.
  • Monitor the working of the machine and report the need of improvement, defects or malfunctions, etc.
  • Operation of lifting devices as needed.
  • Looks for opportunity to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.
  • Follows all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
  • Read, understand and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
  • Shut down process if unsafe.
  • Follow proper machine shutdown procedures.
