About The Position

Manchester Tank is seeking an Inspector/Tester to join their team. This role involves reading and interpreting blueprints, schedules, or product specifications to determine testing procedures, inspecting cylinders for visual and structural defects, and operating machinery according to specifications. The ideal candidate will be committed to safety, environmental responsibility, and continuous improvement, following all EHS guidelines and reporting any unsafe conditions.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schedules, or product specifications.
  • Ability to inspect cylinders for visual defects.
  • Ability to test cylinders for structural defects.
  • Ability to place and remove fittings from cylinders following appropriate protocol.
  • Ability to reject defective parts and mark defects accordingly.
  • Ability to work at different work stations as production needs require.
  • Ability to set up and operate machines according to specifications.
  • Ability to monitor finished products to ensure quality conforms to specifications.
  • Ability to monitor machine operation and report improvements, defects, or malfunctions.
  • Ability to operate lifting devices as needed.
  • Willingness to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes, and overall improvement efforts.
  • Ability to follow all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
  • Ability to report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner.
  • Ability to shut down process if unsafe.
  • Ability to follow proper machine shutdown procedures.
  • Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

  • Reads and interprets blueprints, schedules, or product specifications to determine procedures for testing.
  • Inspects cylinders for visual defects.
  • Tests cylinders for structural defects.
  • Place and remove fittings from the cylinders by following appropriate protocol.
  • Rejects defective parts, and marks defects accordingly.
  • Works at different work stations as production needs require.
  • Sets up and operates machines according to the specifications.
  • Monitor the finished products obtained to ensure the quality conforms to the specifications.
  • Monitor the working of the machine and report the need of improvement, defects or malfunctions, etc.
  • Operation of lifting devices as needed.
  • Looks for opportunity to get involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.
  • Follows all EHS guidelines and applicable procedures.
  • Read, understand and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS Work Instructions.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
  • Shut down process if unsafe.
  • Follow proper machine shutdown procedures.
