About The Position

The Inspector/Receiver is responsible for physically receiving products, inspecting incoming materials, processing ERP transactions, and putting materials away. The role includes verifying incoming components and raw materials against order documents, conducting dimensional inspections, documenting discrepancies, and completing receiving and non-conforming material transactions. The position also uses material-handling equipment to unload trucks and requires communication with factory supervision.

Requirements

• High school diploma or at least two years of shipping and receiving experience; the posting describes these qualifications as preferred.
• Must be able to pass truck and crane certification with training upon hire.
• Basic mechanical skills.
• Intermediate math skills.
• Computer knowledge, including Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, and other computer programs.
• Ability to use inspection equipment such as calipers, tape measures, micrometers, digital protractors, and dial indicators.
• Ability to participate in minor data entry.
• Ability to read a tape measure and a blueprint.
• Ability to use hand tools requiring dexterity.
• Ability to communicate effectively with factory supervision.

Responsibilities

• Verify the accuracy of incoming components and raw materials against order documents.
• Perform dimensional inspections of incoming components.
• Match packing slips with purchase orders and notify impacted departments of discrepancies.
• Complete receiving transactions in the ERP system on the day components are received.
• Place components and raw materials in assigned locations.
• Complete Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs).
• Use overhead cranes, pallet jacks, and forklifts to unload trucks.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
