About The Position

We are seeking a Process Inspector Level B to support operations at our state‑of‑the‑art Advanced Manufacturing Facility (AMF) in Huntsville, AL, which serves as our inert manufacturing facility for the fabrication and assembly of composite rocket motor hardware.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience, or a post‑secondary/associate degree with 0 to 2 years of related experience.
  • Experience working in a quality or inspection role within a manufacturing environment is desired.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of dimensioning and tolerancing systems (GD&T).
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and related quality management standards.

Responsibilities

  • Use standard measuring equipment and techniques to inspect products, processes, and procured items to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Develop and execute audit plans to ensure processes are followed, equipment is properly maintained and calibrated, and materials meet all requirements, including shelf life.
  • Work with the operations team to ensure products meet specifications and schedule requirements.
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Engineers to troubleshoot issues and recommend solutions.
  • Evaluate similar processes within the shop and develop standardized inspection methods and criteria to reduce error, mistake‑proof processes, and establish standard work.
  • Assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify manufacturing processes, collect data, and support research activities, exercising judgment to identify and recommend solutions where errors may be difficult to detect and costly to resolve.
  • Troubleshoot processes and identify, modify, or escalate out‑of‑control conditions and production escapes.
  • Coordinate with maintenance, supervision, and/or the operations team on the setup and calibration of equipment and tooling.
  • Ensure the calibrated‑items process is followed and conduct periodic facility audits.
  • Participate in preventative maintenance activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
