About The Position

This is an hourly position with Local 475, specifically for the 3rd shift. The role involves the inspection of blades and vanes, which are critical components of jet engines. The inspector will be responsible for completing incoming and final inspections to ensure production processes adhere to work instructions. This includes using various inspection and testing equipment to verify product specifications, performing visual and dimensional inspections on different part types, and conducting Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) such as airflow, surface finish, magnetoscope, and core inspection. The position also requires communicating discrepancies and suggesting improvements for continuous improvement efforts.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in English, i.e. speaking, reading, writing.
  • Must be able to read blueprints and drawings.
  • Proven ability to take measurements.
  • Previous experience in basic dimensional/visual inspection required.
  • Certify visual acuity to NAS-410 (corrective lenses allowed for eye exam).

Responsibilities

  • Complete incoming and final Inspection to ensure production is completing processes correctly as defined in the production work instructions.
  • Utilize inspection and test equipment (caliper, micrometer, comparator, ruler, meters, Etc.) to verify products to specification.
  • Perform various visual and dimensional inspections on various part types.
  • Perform NDT Inspections (Airflow, surface finish, Magnetoscope, and core inspection).
  • Communicate product/process/documentation discrepancies and potential discrepancies to aid continuous improvement efforts.
  • Suggest opportunities for improvement for the company.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.
