The Inspector 3 (Sensors) role is responsible for assuring the quality of products by utilizing manual or automated measurement and testing equipment. This position involves identifying and documenting non-conforming parts, maintaining inspection records in Oracle, and inspecting raw materials and purchased parts to ensure they meet design requirements. The role requires the use of statistical process control and quality control techniques, adherence to internal process specifications and third-party requirements, and assisting support functions in root cause analysis. Communication with the team regarding product deficiencies, new processes, or issues is essential. The inspector will work with limited supervision, perform manual set-up, testing, and troubleshooting, and must have a complete understanding of all inspection equipment within the department. They will also keep shift operators informed of special problems, cross-train other employees, and compliantly complete labor tracking documentation. Reporting problems to the appropriate resource and proactively working to improve efficiency and quality are key aspects of this role. The inspector will participate in and support team initiatives, utilize proper PPE and safety procedures, and exemplify and coach others on GE Leadership behaviors. Duties may include performing complex testing, working on more complex, prototype, or first-time builds, and performing final inspection and First Article inspections as required.
