About The Position

This role is for an Inspector 2 (Sensors) in a manufacturing environment. The primary function is to utilize manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure the quality of products. This includes inspecting raw materials and purchased parts, identifying and documenting non-conforming parts, and maintaining inspection records using Oracle. The position also involves assisting support functions in root cause analysis, communicating with team members about product deficiencies and issues, and reporting problems to the appropriate resources. Proactive work to improve efficiency and quality, participation in team initiatives, and adherence to safety procedures and GE Leadership behaviors are also key aspects of the role. The position requires access to U.S. export-controlled information, and employment is contingent upon proving U.S. Person status.

Requirements

• High School Education or GED equivalency.
• 1 year experience in a Manufacturing environment
• Ability and willingness to use basic hand tools (dremel/cut off tooling) and measuring devices (i.e. - dial calipers, rulers, tape measures, protractors, micrometers, gauges, etc.) as required within department.
• Ability and willingness to perform electrical test methods (ohm meter, gauss meter, surge test, hi pot, etc)
• Basic understanding of blueprint and process sheet interpretation, including functional knowledge of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T)
• Ability and willingness to pass visual acuity exam upon offer.
• Ability and willingness to obtain Braze, Weld and Solder inspection certification as required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Must be able to prove U.S. Person status (U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, asylee or refugee status).

Nice To Haves

• 1-3 years Inspection experience in a manufacturing environment
• Basic knowledge of Quality System requirements (AS9100)
• Basic understanding of special process operations (e.g., brazing / soldering / welding / coating, etc.) as required within department.
• Basic knowledge of electrical components and test methods
• Basic knowledge in Receiving, Electrical, or Mechanical Inspection
• Preferred assembly, solder, or electronics manufacturing experience.
• Experience in a self-directed team environment
• Familiarity with 5S & lean manufacturing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Utilize manual or automated measurement and testing equipment to assure quality of products.
• Identify and document non-conforming parts, while using Oracle to maintain inspection records.
• Inspect all raw materials and purchased parts to determine conformance to design requirement.
• Use statistical process control and statistical quality control techniques as required.
• Perform job responsibilities according to internal process specifications and third-party requirements.
• Assist support functions in root cause analysis.
• Compliantly complete all written and/or electronic labor tracking documentation.
• Keep all shift operators informed on special problems involving operation or set up.
• Communicate with team to ensure all team members are aware of product deficiencies, new processes, or issues.
• Report problems to appropriate resource and/or Coach.
• Proactively work to improve efficiency and quality of products.
• Participate in and support team initiatives.
• Utilize proper PPE, safety equipment and follow safety procedures.
• Understand and abides by the GE Leadership behaviors.
• Other duties as be required.
