About The Position

The IQC Inspector 2 works under general direction, follows applicable department procedures and follows oral and written instruction. This position requires a highly motivated team player to perform visual and dimensional inspection of mechanical and electrical components. Inspection includes mechanical measurement, documentation verification, and test result verification. The inspector will verify the raw material meets the specifications required by the products. This position also works cross-functionally with Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain to evaluate defects.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Technical Career Degree
  • 1-2 years of working experience, preferably in manufacturing environment related to quality inspection.
  • Clear understanding of GMP, GDP, and Corporate SOPs.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Proficient in the use of personal computers, including Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to use required information systems such as SAP, Agile, Neptune to document required test logs or reports as needed.
  • Conducting 6S maintenance.
  • Perform basic arithmetic (including decimals) and calculate averages, percentages, and ranges using a calculator as needed. Determine nominal, minimum, and maximum values from specifications and tolerances.
  • Follow standard instructions and apply practical judgment in routine, standardized situations with minimal variation.
  • Ability to work effectively within their team, with cross-functional teams, and independently to achieve quality objectives.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and BOM structures.
  • Ability to use standard inspection tools (e.g. micrometers, calipers, rulers, etc.).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in medical device industry
  • Understanding of QMS/ERP Information Systems, such as SAP, Agile, and Neptune.
  • GD&T Knowledge

Responsibilities

  • Follow all corporate, safety, and production procedures and regulations.
  • Maintain excellent attendance in accordance with Quality Operations guidelines.
  • Complete ISU and other required training courses on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, in compliance with performance targets set by department.
  • Record test logs or write daily activity reports as required.
  • Escalate safety, quality or other issues with supervisor or manager as needed.
  • Performs inspection and tests to raw material at the IQC area and completes inspection report; move inspected material to required physical locations based on disposition.
  • Interact with computer-based software to assist with inspection activities and record inspection results.
  • Creates VR Quality Notifications describing problems and inspection results when required.
  • Interpret basic mechanical drawings to understand dimensional inspection characteristics.
  • Review supplier’s supplied documentation to evaluate it has the required information/test results per part drawings specification.
