As an Incoming Quality Control (IQC) Inspector based in Middlefield (CT), you will inspect, measure, and validate incoming materials, components, assemblies, and outsourced processes to ensure conformance to engineering, customer, and supplier requirements before release to production.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's degree in engineering, Quality, or a related field is a plus.
  • Experience performing incoming, receiving, or supplier quality inspections in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, dimensional metrology principles, and the use of basic gaging equipment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, specifications, and inspection requirements.
  • Strong communication, Microsoft Office, and cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently.
  • Experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs).
  • Experience creating or modifying CMM programs using Zeiss Calypso or PC-DMIS software.
  • Experience supporting aerospace, medical device, optics, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001, or equivalent quality standards.
  • Experience supporting optical manufacturing, precision machining, or electro-mechanical assembly operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform incoming and in-process inspections of mechanical, optical, electrical, and electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
  • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections using engineering drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and sampling plans.
  • Verify supplier documentation, certifications, certificates of conformance (CoCs), test reports, and special process certifications.
  • Perform measurements using conventional metrology equipment, coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), and vision systems.
  • Record inspection results, interpret data, and determine product acceptance based on specifications and established quality requirements.
