This role involves performing wire welding functions, understanding and applying basic principles of TIG welding, and setting up jigs and fixtures. The position also includes performing secondary processing operations such as sand blasting, wire brushing, and grinding. Maintenance of welding equipment is also a key responsibility. The role requires working in compliance with NADCAP requirements and passing workmanship reviews, procedure reviews, operator assessments, and refresher training. Employees may be required to perform welding functions outside of their home department and assist in new process development and troubleshooting. The position demands effective and efficient production of parts according to certification and quality guidelines, with frequent interaction with internal and/or external customers and support functions. This role also involves training lower-level employees, working with limited supervision, and cross-training other employees as needed. Accurate completion of labor tracking documentation, communication with the team, and reporting problems to the appropriate resource are essential. Proactive work to improve efficiency and quality, participation in team initiatives, and exemplifying GE Leadership behaviors are expected. Proper use of PPE, safety equipment, and adherence to safety procedures are mandatory. The role also requires understanding and abiding by GE Leadership behaviors. Other duties as required.
