About The Position

Entry-level trainee inspector position. The Inspector 1 will learn to undertake basic field inspection and sampling work, complete required paperwork, correctly distribute samples, and communicate promptly with office staff. The role performs assigned work under the direction of a training person or supervisor and follows applicable industry, customer, and company requirements.

Responsibilities

• Complete required safety and orientation training to gain access to customer facilities.
• Shadow an assigned senior inspector or training person and learn basic inspection and sampling requirements.
• Read, become familiar with, and follow American Petroleum Institute (API) and IFIA procedures, as well as customer and company policies and requirements.
• As assigned, perform basic field inspection and sampling, including physically measuring product, obtaining product temperatures, sampling product, and calculating volume.
• Perform tasks in accordance with current industry standards and practices and specific supervisor instructions.
• Maintain required communications with office staff and promptly report changes to the initial plan.
• Prepare and distribute field reports to vessels, terminals, and the office as assigned by the training person.
• Properly identify samples and transport them in a timely manner.
• Perform other similar tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
