About The Position

The Quality Inspector 1 at Sheridan Lebanon Junction visually inspects books, catalogs, magazines, and other printed materials to ensure they meet published quality standards before reaching customers. The company provides training, and print industry experience is not required. The position is full-time on the first shift, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., with overtime opportunities.

Requirements

• Apply principles of rational systems to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables.
• Interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form.
• Perform math, algebraic, and geometric procedures in standard practical applications.
• Read and interpret work instructions, safety rules, and equipment procedures.
• Communicate effectively in writing using proper format, punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
• Work well with others as a team player.

Nice To Haves

• More than three months of experience in manufacturing, quality inspection, or a print environment.
• Experience working with quality control procedures or defect reporting.

Responsibilities

• Visually inspect printed materials for defects outside established specifications.
• Follow Quality System procedures and work instructions, and record identified defects.
• Ensure products meet published quality standards.
• Assist in determining the disposition of suspect or defective materials.
• Prepare written reports and promptly notify manufacturing management of known or identified defects.
• Communicate issues to manufacturing management in a timely manner.
• Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
