About The Position

A highly respected national law firm is seeking an Insolvency Associate Attorney to join its Austin office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in representing debtors, creditors, lenders, financial institutions, and other stakeholders in sophisticated bankruptcy, restructuring, and insolvency matters.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of bankruptcy, restructuring, insolvency, or commercial finance experience gained at a sophisticated law firm
  • Experience representing debtors, secured lenders, unsecured creditors, financial institutions, investors, or other stakeholders in insolvency matters
  • Experience handling Chapter 11 proceedings, out-of-court restructurings, workouts, and distressed transactions
  • Experience drafting and negotiating restructuring agreements, bankruptcy pleadings, financing documents, and related transactional documentation
  • Working knowledge of the Bankruptcy Code, Article 9 of the Uniform Commercial Code, and secured lending concepts
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage sophisticated matters while working directly with clients
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Texas bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

  • Experience appearing in bankruptcy court and managing contested matters, hearings, and other insolvency-related proceedings is preferred
  • Experience advising clients regarding creditor rights, distressed acquisitions, and insolvency-related litigation is a plus
