About The Position

The Inside Upholsterer upholsters the inside sections of chairs and sofas in fabric and leather, meeting 100% quality standards, and performs their own repair work. The position is based at Arhaus Upholstery in Conover, North Carolina, in the Inside Upholstery department, and reports to the Inside Upholstery Supervisor.

This is a full-time, non-exempt production/hourly position. The stated schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.; overtime may be needed. The employee must also be able to work weekends and overtime. The work takes place in a heated and cooled furniture manufacturing plant with concrete floors.

Requirements

• Knowledge of upholstery procedures.
• Ability to read an order ticket written in English.
• Ability to use a staple gun, staple puller, scissors, and regulators.
• Ability to work safely, neatly, and quickly to meet production requirements.
• Strong communication and interpersonal relationship skills.
• Strict attention to detail.
• Ability to work as part of a team, be reliable, and work with minimum supervision.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to work weekends and overtime.
• Strong English reading, comprehension, speaking, and writing skills.
• Ability to transport frames to and from the work area.
• Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to walk and stand for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
• Good vision.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including safety glasses and closed-toe/closed-heel shoes, when required.
• Ability to adhere to safety policies and procedures to prevent injuries to oneself and others.

Nice To Haves

• Three or more years of experience in furniture upholstery.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
