About The Position

The Inside Upholsterer applies upholstery materials to furniture frames using hand tools, power tools, and specialized upholstery tools. The role involves applying padding and upholstery fabric to wood frames and completing the inside of upholstered furniture so the cover is smooth and fits the frame properly. The position is full-time, day shift, at the Century Classic Plant 12 in Conover, North Carolina. Salary is undisclosed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous upholstery experience is a plus.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods and perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work in noisy environments.
• Manual dexterity to assemble products or operate machinery as directed.
• Frequently lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds and rarely lift or carry objects weighing 51–75 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Use tools to apply padding and upholstery fabric to wood frames, completing the inside of upholstered furniture.
• Build pieces so the cover is smooth and fits the frame properly.
• Read and follow production tickets.
• Perform lining, spot matching, four-way lining, and tufting.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
