About The Position

This position applies upholstery materials to furniture frames using a variety of hand tools, power tools, and special upholstery tools. The upholsterer applies padding and upholstery fabric to wood frames and completes the inside of upholstered furniture, building pieces so the cover is smooth and fits the frame properly. The role requires reading and following production tickets and following all safety policies and procedures. Other duties may be assigned.

The position is full-time, day shift, at the Century Classic Plant 12 in Conover, North Carolina.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous upholstery experience is a plus.
• Ability to work for prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
• Ability to work in noisy environments.
• Manual dexterity to assemble products or operate machinery as directed.
• Frequently lift or carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; rarely lift or carry objects weighing 51–75 pounds.

• Previous upholstery experience.

Responsibilities

• Use various tools to apply padding and upholstery fabric to a wood frame, completing the inside of an upholstered piece of furniture.
• Build pieces so the cover is smooth and fits the frame properly.
• Read and follow production tickets.
• Line, spot match, 4-way line, and tuft.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
