Trane in Fishers, IN is hiring an Inside Sales Specialist for the Light Commercial Unitary Replacement (LCUR) team. This role involves close collaboration with customers, account managers, other personnel, and suppliers to ensure the timely completion of estimates for products from express warehouses and project execution. Key responsibilities include the technical selection and pricing of equipment for projects, providing estimating support to the equipment sales team, and managing all aspects of equipment projects from inception to completion. The specialist will be directly responsible for project execution, working with teams to achieve objectives within specific timeframes and resource constraints. The role also entails the administration, implementation, and management of equipment projects, with accountability for scope of work, schedule, and budget.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree preferred OR a minimum of two (2) years of project management, equipment, HVAC or related experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature equipment preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from top management, customers, and service personnel.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing site information from existing installations of Trane and competitors’ products, and developing cost estimates, ensuring accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc. of Trane materials, non-Trane purchased equipment, and other construction-related activities to assist Account Managers in bidding replacement projects.
  • Determining project needs, constraints, and responsibilities to meet the contractor’s installation requirements.
  • Preparing, finalizing, and reviewing preliminary and/or final proposals. Preparing equipment submittals and validating equipment selection.
  • Assisting Account Managers in determining proposal price, selling strategy, and developing project fulfillment schedules with the project team.
  • Ensuring timely completion of assigned projects and customer satisfaction.
  • Planning and analyzing assigned projects, establishing schedules and project parameters, and setting procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex equipment applications.
  • Communicating with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.
  • Comparing estimated ship dates with contractor’s project schedules.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal equipment ordering processes.
  • Maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion.
  • Controlling expenses by monitoring assigned project budgets.
  • Creating and revising project schedules, including generating tasks, estimates, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Overseeing the preparation of Trane material and vendor orders; recording the receipt of materials and approving payments.
  • Entering equipment orders and issuing purchase orders for vendor orders.
  • Maintaining customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
  • Establishing professional relationships with customers and interfacing constantly to maintain accurate status reports and project reviews.
