About The Position

This Inside Sales Representative role offers a blend of customer-facing service, order management, and hands-on exposure to industrial manufacturing. You will answer inbound calls, support customers with accurate information on products and timelines, and regularly collaborate with the production floor to understand manufacturing processes. The position is ideal for a motivated self-starter who enjoys working with numbers, learning technical details, and delivering high-quality customer service in a fast-paced, activity-based sales environment.

Requirements

  • Strong customer service skills with a proven ability to manage multiple customer situations simultaneously.
  • Accurate data entry skills with high attention to detail, particularly within a manufacturing MRP system.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and general computer literacy.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel and customers.
  • Ability and interest in learning extensive information about industrial manufacturing and discussing technical details with customers.
  • Capability to thrive in a fast-paced, activity-based sales environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify issues, perform situational analysis, and escalate appropriately when needed.
  • Adaptability to changes in the work environment, including competing demands and unexpected task assignments.

  • Ability to navigate the warehouse floor and observe operations for extended periods.
  • Comfort working in both office and warehouse environments with varying temperature, heat, noise, and exposure to metal materials.

Responsibilities

  • Learn the full range of products required to effectively manage the inside sales function and support customer inquiries.
  • Continuously develop and maintain subject-matter expertise on customers, products, pricing, and manufacturing timelines.
  • Operate the inside sales desk and consistently apply the company’s high-quality customer service strategy.
  • Apply industrial manufacturing knowledge to customer applications to provide accurate and relevant solutions.
  • Operate the incoming call switchboard throughout the day, professionally handling and redirecting calls with excellent customer service.
  • Greet guests in a professional, friendly, and hospitable manner.
  • Answer routine questions and respond to requests for general company information.
  • Coordinate with sales and marketing teams to service specific customers and assist with special projects and telemarketing activities.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams to address specific customer needs and support ongoing projects.
  • Manage multiple customer situations simultaneously while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
  • Handle calls from potentially upset or confused customers with patience, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Complete accurate data entry in a manufacturing MRP system with strong attention to detail.
  • Assist with ordering, receiving, stocking, and distributing office supplies.
  • Process daily production reports and ensure information is accurately recorded and communicated.
