Jumpmind is an enterprise software company focused on creating creative, elegant, and easy-to-use software. Since 2007, they have been assisting enterprises with complex data challenges, with SymmetricDS being a core product. SymmetricDS is a leading solution for enterprise data replication, change data capture (CDC), and data transformation across databases and file systems. It supports thousands of connected systems, operates in near real-time, and is compatible with major database platforms. Customers use SymmetricDS for synchronizing critical data across distributed environments, keeping operational and reporting databases in sync, protecting applications with continuous database backup, and facilitating data movement between cloud, on-premise, Docker, and Kubernetes environments. The company is expanding and seeking a driven, intellectually curious Inside Sales Representative to join their Columbus, Ohio team to help promote SymmetricDS globally.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of inside sales experience, preferably in B2B software or technology
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a full-cycle or closing role
  • Strong discovery and qualification skills — you ask great questions and listen before you pitch
  • Comfortable running product demonstrations and translating technical capability into business value
  • Disciplined pipeline management habits — you know your numbers and manage your forecast accurately
  • Excellent written and verbal communication — clear, concise, and professional
  • Intellectually curious — you enjoy learning complex products and genuinely want to understand how your customers' data environments work
  • Coachable and self-motivated — you seek feedback, apply it, and hold yourself accountable
  • Organized and detail-oriented — you maintain clean CRM records and follow through on commitments

Nice To Haves

  • Experience selling to technical buyers (database administrators, IT directors, data engineers, or similar) is a strong advantage
  • Familiarity with data integration, database technologies, or enterprise infrastructure software is a plus — not a requirement

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, research, and engage target accounts through outbound outreach including cold calling, email sequencing, LinkedIn, and referrals
  • Qualify inbound leads and convert them into active sales opportunities
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline at 3x or greater coverage against quarterly quota
  • Identify the right buyer personas within target accounts — typically database administrators, IT directors, data engineers, and VP/C-level technology leaders
  • Run a disciplined, consultative sales process from first contact through signed contract
  • Conduct discovery calls to understand prospect data architecture, pain points, and business objectives
  • Deliver compelling product demonstrations that map SymmetricDS capabilities to specific customer use cases — replication, CDC, data migration, database backup, and workload distribution
  • Build business cases that quantify the value of SymmetricDS relative to the cost and risk of the customer's current state
  • Manage proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and close deals within your assigned quota
  • Own the renewal motion for your customer base — proactively engage customers ahead of contract expiration, confirm ongoing value realization, resolve any open issues, and secure timely renewals to protect and grow recurring revenue
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date opportunity records in CRM at all times
  • Capture and share competitive intelligence, objection themes, and win/loss insights with product and marketing leadership
  • Develop a working understanding of the competitive landscape including alternative replication tools, ETL platforms, and native database replication solutions
  • Partner with Jumpmind's technical support and engineering teams to support proof-of-concept evaluations and resolve complex technical questions during the sales cycle
  • Collaborate with marketing on campaign follow-up, content feedback, and ICP refinement
  • Represent Jumpmind professionally and accurately in every customer interaction
