About The Position

Howmet Aerospace has an immediate opening for an Inside Sales Account Representative with experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. This position is in our Rochester, NY facility and is eligible for a $1,000 sign-on bonus. Responsible for creating, maintaining and developing relationships as well as favorable contacts with current and potential accounts. Primary activities are related to contract review, customer relations, customer service, sales support, account profitability and order processing. Responsible for overseeing customer order files, relationship with each customer, high level of internal communications between external sales, purchasing, planning, engineering, metallurgy, operations and accounting. Supports the preparation of sales forecasts and ensures the forecast data is current and updated within the ERP system. Ensure that the customer's purchase orders are in place to replace forecasts prior to launch. Acts as leading support for budgeting and LQE activities. Must possess excellent communication skills, both via telephone, in written format, and in face-to-face communications. The application of these skills is critical both with the customer and on an internal level (both onsite and within the Howmet divisions). Develop and maintain positive customer internal relations. Demonstrates depth of relationships across the organization structure at key accounts. Work through OTD and customer scorecards to achieve optimum rating and assist with monthly performance review reports. Lead customer visits/reoccurring meetings to the site working with external sales and internal stakeholders. Responsible for clear agenda items and preparation in order to present the best possible impression of the company to customers and external visitors. Develop and track customer milestones. Identify and drive improvements in sales processes and systems. Pursues open non-conforming submittals for disposition with customer. Capable of negotiating discounts with customers in order to complete the sale. Responsible for maintaining export licensing with international customers. Understanding of product both import/export and working with customs brokers. Proactively research and respond to customer inquiries regarding status of order, investigate and resolve production status issues, drawing on organization to resolve road-blocks, address shipping and scheduling issues, proactively communicate with customer regarding changes in product availability or delivery schedules, and work closely with purchasing, planning, engineering, and metallurgy in the initial contract review phase to ensure timely launch of customer orders. Process customer purchase order and reviews quote for accuracy to ensure original quotes meet purchase order requirements. Responsible for the timely and accurate entry of order, commercial contract review process, and presentation of the CQRA pack to quality, engineering and planning generation of all appropriate documentation, ability to lead effort to launch product on time. Maintain order book with accuracy and timeliness. Ability to review current orders against expected engine build quantities, understanding of end user applications, ability to interface with customers when order activity does not keep pace with end user forecasts, ability to interface with outside sales representatives to resolve discrepancies, understanding of drawings, prints, and customer specifications.

Requirements

  • 2 years of related experience
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • High School diploma or GED is required
