About The Position
Electric Boat is the premier designer and builder of nuclear powered submarines for the US Navy and we are experiencing a period of unprecedented growth! We are looking for people who want to learn and grow within our Inside Machinist Department as we continue to build the most advanced submarines.
Requirements
- High school education or GED or 2+ years relevant technical experience
- 5+ years of previous assembly experience
- Ability to read mechanical assembly and detail drawings
- Available for any shift
- Proficiency in shop mathematics
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools is desired.
- Candidates who have successfully completed the CT Department of Labor Eastern Workforce Investment Board Training Program
Responsibilities
- Assembly of valves, gearboxes, operators, trunks, and other mechanical components.
- Disassembly and troubleshooting of same.
- Perform fitting, scraping, grinding, and honing.
- Install and torque fasteners.
- Precision measurement of parts.
- Completion of hardcopy and electronic documentation.
- Perform hydrostatic and air testing of components.
- Use hand tools, portable power tools, and hydraulic torqueing equipment.
