About The Position

The Inserter Operator sets up and monitors the high-speed automated inserter equipment. This position will set up machinery for specific job specifications to produce expected results. This position requires knowledge of USPS regulations and mailing/sorting Knowledge of USPS regulations as it pertains to mailing letters, flats etc. is needed to operate machinery for set up and monitoring during operation. This position will work with multiple different jobs, each with different specifications, on a daily basis. Regular attendance is necessary, and overtime might be needed (including nights and weekends). We’re looking for someone extremely reliable with strong computer skills. If you’re mechanically inclined and ready to learn new skills, this is the job for you!

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and understanding production work orders; communicating with other departments and staff members to gather any additional information needed to complete the job.
  • Operate Pitney Bowes FPS inserting system / VDP Inline inkjet
  • Ability to complete setup and change over between a variety of job types from A7, #10, 6 x 9, 10 x 13
  • Read and understand job tickets and set machine up to meet the requirement of each job
  • Familiar with inline inkjet and variable data
  • Familiar with match inserting using 2D, 3 of 9, Code 128 barcodes
  • Reconcile jobs in online reporting system
  • Knowledge of USPS mailing requirements
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs, be on feet for 8 hours, overtime as needed including nights and weekends.
  • Identify maintenance needs for machinery
  • Monitor running of machines and train other operator’s on proper operation.
  • Troubleshoot problems and take corrective action, make repairs, and notify supervisor of difficulties.
  • Communicate information to other shift operators.
  • Work with safety in mind and report any potential unsafe circumstances.
  • Be willing to work in other departments if requested.
  • Maintain a high level of accurate and quality assured work.
  • Follow and adhere to HIPAA and FSC company guidelines.
