About The Position

This position is for an Inpatient RN in the Surgical/Operating Room, specifically focusing on Pre-operative, Post-operative, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) services. The work schedule is 100% FTE, Monday through Friday, with 8-hour shifts and variable start times. The department operates from 5:00 am to 8:00 pm or until the last patient is discharged. The role is located at UW Health Swedish American Hospital, 1401 E State St.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing program.
Must provide a copy of HS diploma or equivalent, or highest level of completed degree obtained.
2 years of experience in an Emergency Room setting or Psychiatric Nursing setting (for 911 Call Center Triage Only).
Current RN licensure to practice in the State of Illinois.
Basic Life Support/CPR Certification.
Must possess a current, valid driver’s license issued by the individual’s state of residence.

Nice To Haves

Community nursing experience (for 911 Call Center Triage Only).
Specialty certification in area of concentration.
ACLS certification within two years of hire (for 9th Floor Only).

Responsibilities

Provide nursing care in the Pre-operative, Post-operative, and PACU settings.
Manage patient care during 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with variable start times.
Adhere to department hours of operation (5:00 am - 8:00 pm or until last patient discharge).
