About The Position

Are you a certified pharmacy technician looking for a new opportunity to positively impact patient care? Our experienced inpatient team at Missouri Baptist Medical Center is looking for detail oriented and patient centered technician! Ideal candidate will be national certified with previous pharmacy experience. PRN ( 3 shifts/6 week period required). Varying Shift times: 6am-2:30pm, 1pm-11:30PM. Missouri Baptist Medical Center, an acute care hospital in St. Louis County, offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services, including heart care, cancer, women and infants, breast health, gastrointestinal, orthopedic, stroke, therapy, wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Children’s Hospital. The Inpatient Pharmacy at Missouri Baptist Medical Center consists of a Central Pharmacy including a Class 10,000 Clean Room for sterile product preparation and satellite pharmacies in the Operating Room, the Cancer/Infusion Center, and satellites or decentralized pharmacists on several inpatient floors. The hospital uses Pyxis Connect digital order imaging, medication bar coding, an electronic medication administration record, and Alaris Guardrails "smart" IV pumps. The department utilizes Pyxis medstations for distribution of 90% of medication. The Pharmacy program at MoBap also administers an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency program.

Requirements

  • State Bd Pharm Registration
  • Pharmacy Tech Certification

Responsibilities

  • Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.
  • Assists in the preparation of medication orders, to include workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
  • Uses automated/electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supports various inventory activities, to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness.
  • Pursues proficiency in compounding sterile preparations and/or other advanced skills.
