Inpatient Pharmacy Tech 2
About The Position
The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 2 works under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and follows standard procedures to prepare medication orders and assist with dispensing and transporting medications. The role includes sterile and/or non-sterile compounding, use of automated and electronic systems, and maintenance of required documentation and records. The technician maintains quality assurance standards, regulatory cleanliness compliance, and pharmacy inventory processes, and pursues proficiency in sterile compounding and/or other advanced skills. The position supports pharmacy services at Christian Hospital and Northwest HealthCare. The pharmacy team uses medication-distribution automation and works collaboratively with healthcare professionals. The schedule is Monday through Friday on days, with every third weekend and a holiday rotation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- State Board of Pharmacy registration.
- Pharmacy technician certification.
- Less than two years of experience listed as the minimum requirement.
- No supervisor experience required.

Responsibilities
- Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation, and maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance.
- Assists in medication-order preparation, including workflow management, basic preparation and dispensing, and non-sterile compounding.
- Uses automated and electronic systems to manage product preparation, inventory, patient records, and regulatory compliance.
- Supports inventory activities, including storage, ordering, rotation, beyond-use dating, and cleanliness.
- Pursues proficiency in sterile compounding and/or other advanced skills.
- Assists with dispensing and transporting medications.
