CMG Brain and Spine is expanding and seeking a skilled and motivated Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to play a key role in the care of patients with complex cerebrovascular and neurovascular conditions across the continuum of care. This position offers the opportunity to work in a high-acuity, procedure-driven specialty alongside fellowship-trained Neuroendovascular surgeons in a collaborative, team-based environment. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program, and Masters of Science Degree in Nursing (MSN)
  • Current licensure by the Virginia State Board of Nursing as a Nurse Practitioner with prescriptive authority.
  • Maintains BLS and ACLS Certifications.
  • Hold a current, active license as a registered nurse in Virginia or hold a current multistate licensure privilege as a registered nurse.
  • Nationally recognized certification in field of specialization

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Neuro ICU or ER preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with cerebrovascular and neurovascular conditions (e.g., ischemic stroke, intracranial aneurysms, AVMs, carotid disease)
  • Provide inpatient care including: Pre- and post-procedural assessments, Daily rounding in ICU and step-down units, Coordination of care with neurology, neurosurgery, critical care, and nursing teams
  • See follow-up patients in clinic setting
  • Assist with neurointerventional procedures as appropriate
  • Participate in stroke alerts and neurovascular call coverage
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging
  • Perform procedures within scope of practice
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and follow-up care
  • Document care in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner
  • Assisting during stroke code
