About The Position

Sun Chemical, a member of the DIC Group, produces packaging and graphic solutions, color and display technologies, functional products, electronic materials, and products for the automotive and healthcare industries. The Ink Inplant Tech II works at a customer location in Clarksville, Tennessee, providing intermediate-level color matching, formulation, and small-batch blending support under minimal to no supervision. The role produces and quality-controls inks to meet or exceed customer specifications, coordinates production to support the customer’s schedule, and provides press-side technical service. It also includes troubleshooting, technical reporting, maintaining production and quality-control records, identifying rework opportunities, reporting to CTS and Sales, and maintaining safe, orderly operations. This is a customer-facing position requiring strong interpersonal skills.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as dispensing and color-match software.
Ability to lift 50 pounds throughout the day.
At least 3 years of industry experience.
Strong interpersonal skills for a customer-facing position.

Responsibilities

Produce and quality-control inks to ensure they meet or exceed customer specifications.
Perform color matching and formulation.
Maintain detailed production and quality-control records.
Coordinate production to support the customer’s schedule.
Review batch tickets to identify and execute rework opportunities.
Provide press-side technical service, troubleshoot problems, and prepare detailed, consistent technical reports.
Maintain monthly and weekly reporting to CTS and the Sales organization.
Maintain housekeeping and safe operations.
Lift buckets weighing up to 50 pounds and move 500-pound drums in accordance with operating procedures.
