We are seeking an experienced Injection Molding Process Specialist to support and optimize our injection molding operations on 3rd shift. In this hands-on technical role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting, process improvement, equipment setup, mold changeovers, and supporting production performance across our manufacturing environment. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3 years of injection molding experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience setting up, troubleshooting, and optimizing injection molding processes
  • Strong understanding of molding equipment, tooling, and auxiliary systems
  • Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and manufacturing software systems
  • Injection molding processes and plastics technology
  • Screws, barrels, material delivery systems, dryers, grinders, separators, and temperature control equipment
  • Hydraulics, pneumatics, power transmission systems, and PLCs
  • Mold design, tooling, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Manufacturing efficiency, quality systems, process controls, and continuous improvement methodologies
  • Basic statistics and data-driven problem-solving techniques

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Engel injection molding machines
  • Completion of a Department of Labor-approved apprenticeship program focused on Plastics Engineering Technology
  • Experience working in a global manufacturing organization
  • Knowledge of SAP, CMMS, BDK, CONNEX, or similar manufacturing systems

Responsibilities

  • Set up, calibrate, troubleshoot, and optimize Engel injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment
  • Lead and support mold, resin, and equipment installations, transfers, and startup activities
  • Monitor machine efficiency, cycle times, and overall process performance to identify and resolve issues
  • Troubleshoot molding, tooling, machine, and support equipment problems using root-cause analysis techniques
  • Establish, document, and maintain processing parameters to ensure quality and productivity targets are achieved
  • Complete mold and insert changeovers while ensuring proper setup and process validation
  • Perform equipment calibration and preventative maintenance activities as assigned
  • Update system data and maintain accurate production and maintenance records
  • Partner with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance, and Production teams to drive continuous improvement
  • Support operator, apprentice, and technician development through coaching, mentoring, and hands-on training
  • Participate in special projects involving new product launches, equipment installations, process improvements, and operational initiatives
  • Communicate work progress, technical concerns, and solutions during shift handoffs and team meetings
  • Work 3rd shift hours 11pm-7am
  • Occasional overtime on weekends
