About The Position

The Process Technician – Injection Molding role focuses on optimizing injection molding processes to enhance safety, quality, productivity, and cost-effectiveness, ultimately improving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE). This position involves analyzing process and manufacturing data to boost capability, stability, repeatability, cycle times, scrap rates, and uptime. The technician will monitor production, implement process improvements for optimal conditions, and standardize best practices. A key aspect of the role is leading the troubleshooting of complex molding issues related to molds, machines, materials, automation, auxiliary equipment, and process variations. This includes conducting root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and supporting production recovery, startup activities, quality issues, and recurring equipment or process concerns. The role also supports mold qualification, requalification, process validation, and mold testing. Additionally, the technician will assist in implementing new molds, materials, technologies, and production platforms, supporting new product introductions and ramp-ups. This position involves technical leadership through coaching and mentoring Technicians, Setters, Operators, and Production Team Members on scientific molding principles, troubleshooting, and technical best practices. The technician will act as a technical resource for cross-functional problem-solving, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing. Process governance and compliance are also crucial, involving process audits to ensure adherence to global standards, process controls, safety, quality, and environmental requirements. Maintaining process documentation, mold cards, work instructions, and operating standards, while identifying risks and recommending improvements, are also part of the responsibilities.
