As an automotive supplier, we partner with automakers and new mobility actors worldwide. This role supports the Injection Molding Team through coaching, team meetings, and on-the-job training. The position involves ensuring the realization of QRQC activities for all problems, including those from new projects, and escalating issues as needed. The engineer will plan, schedule, and coordinate advanced industrial engineering assignments related to Manufacturing Engineering, support APU Managers/Site Managers in issue analysis, estimate workforce needs, and schedule work to meet deadlines and specifications. There is a possibility to supervise or coordinate the work of Engineers, Technicians, and Designers. The role is responsible for facilitating and implementing IP and VPS tools such as improvement proposals, 5S, problem-solving, and QRQC, while also involving suppliers and encouraging the use of QRQC methodology. Daily production schedules will be reviewed with the Master Scheduler, and participation in established procedures to ensure compliance with project roadmaps is required. The engineer will organize and lead Problem Solving Groups with relevant functions and supplier representatives to analyze problems, identify root causes, and define action plans using Quality Tools. Support for Customer Initial Sample submissions with correct documentation to ensure right-first-time acceptance for new Service Part Numbers is also a key responsibility. Other job functions may be assigned as directed.

Requirements

  • Technical Associates Degree (or experience in lieu of education)
  • 3+ years of injection molding engineering experience, preferably in the automotive industry
  • Experience processing at least one of the following types of injection molding machines: Milacron / Engel / KraussMaffei
  • Demonstrated experience to analyze and solve injection molding problems as an Engineering or a Technician
  • Demonstrated experience as having good communication skills to outside vendors and customers

Responsibilities

  • Support the Injection Molding Team through regular coaching, team meetings, and on job training.
  • Ensure the realization of QRQC activities for all problems (including problems from new projects) and including escalation to upper levels of management.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct/coordinate advanced industrial engineering assignments associated with Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Support APU Managers / Site Manager in the analysis of issues.
  • Estimate workforce needs and schedule work to meet completion dates and technical specifications.
  • Supervise or coordinate the work of Engineers, Technicians, Designers and others who assist in specific assignments.
  • Be responsible for facilitation and implementation of IP and VPS tools such as improvement proposals, 5S, problem solving, QRQC.
  • Involve suppliers, encourage use of QRQC methodology.
  • Review daily production schedules with the Master Scheduler.
  • Participate in the established procedures to ensure compliance with the requirements of project roadmaps.
  • Organize and animate Problem Solving Groups with all the functions concerned and supplier representatives to analyze the problem, find the root cause, and define action plans by applying Problem Solving Quality Tools.
