Requirements

  • Rigorous analytical mind, capable of evaluating several technical options and identifying the most optimal, reliable, and safe solution.

  • Expertise in the selection, specification, and integration of MV/HV equipment: transformers, circuit breakers, disconnectors, busbars, GIS/AIS, grounding systems, and lightning arresters.
  • Mastery of electrical performance concepts, thermal constraints, insulation levels, short-circuit capacities, and equipment reliability criteria.
  • Ability to analyze and design electrical substations (25 kV and above), taking into account technical, operational, and regulatory requirements.
  • Good understanding of IEEE/CSA standards applicable to equipment and their commissioning.
  • Proficiency in preparing plans, specifications, technical documents, and comparative analysis documents to support informed decisions.
  • Useful experience with FAT/SAT testing, technical validations, and equipment integration stages.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (IGEE an asset).
  • Member of the OIQ.
  • 5+ years of experience in the design, selection, and integration of MV/HV equipment in industrial, institutional, or public projects.
  • Solid experience with IEEE/CSA standards and technical approval processes.
  • Experience in the detailed engineering of 25 kV and above projects, including: plan and specification design, equipment specifications, comparative analyses, and coordination with manufacturers.

Nice To Haves

  • Complementary experience in control and protection or in specialized studies such as: arc flash, coordination, harmonics, MOLT, flicker, etc.
