About The Position

Norda Stelo is seeking an experienced municipal engineer to join their Civil Works Center of Excellence. The successful candidate will primarily participate in municipal projects (urban infrastructure, networks, developments) and will also collaborate on various mandates for other clients and work groups in sectors such as energy, mining, industrial, rail, and port, and occasionally road sectors. Reporting to the Civil Works Center of Excellence, you will play a key role in the design, coordination, and execution of major projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • 6 to 9 years of experience in municipal engineering
  • Member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  • Experience in the design and execution of municipal infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of municipal standards and practices in Quebec
  • Knowledge of design tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, priority management, and problem-solving skills
  • Leadership, autonomy, and ability to work in a team

  • Experience in multi-sector environments (energy, mining, industrial, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Design and supervise municipal infrastructure projects (water, sewer, roads, drainage, etc.)
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Participate in the technical management of projects, from preliminary design to commissioning
  • Ensure compliance with municipal standards, regulations, and specifications
  • Contribute to projects in the energy, mining, industrial, rail, and port sectors
  • Adapt technical approaches according to the specific requirements of different sectors
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (engineering, environment, geotechnics, etc.)
  • Ensure coordination with stakeholders (clients, municipalities, contractors, partners)
  • Participate in project follow-up meetings and technical reviews
  • Mentor more junior resources as needed
  • Perform or supervise site supervision activities
  • Support the resolution of technical issues during execution
  • Ensure the quality of work and compliance of deliverables
  • Contribute to the development of best practices within the Center of Excellence
  • Participate in the optimization of processes and technical tools
  • Act as a technical reference in your area of expertise
