About The Position

You will apply your knowledge of thermodynamics and aerodynamics to design, develop, and test innovative solutions for the aerodynamic integration of gas turbine engines into aircraft. You will make a significant contribution to the Installation Aerodynamics Team with a solid understanding of gas turbine engine inlet and exhaust aerodynamics and their impact on the system level integration of the engine and aircraft. This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based in Longueuil, and performed exclusively on-site.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering with minimum of 5 years relevant experience or Master degree with a minimum of 3 years relavent experience or PhD in mechanical or aerospace engineering with a specialization in aerodynamics
  • Solid understanding of aerodynamic and thermodynamic fundamentals
  • Relevant experience in commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) codes
  • Proficient at handling several analytical tasks concurrently.
  • Capable of working alone and in teams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of computer program using Python, Matlab, Fortran an asset
  • This position is part of a French-speaking work environment, it requires a very good knowledge of English to read and understand, on a daily basis, documentation and technical terms that may emanate from international organizations, as well as to write and communicate in English with customers, suppliers or international colleagues.
  • The selected candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and any applicable clearances with respect to the handling and transfer of controlled goods. Employment is conditional upon the successful completion of these checks and obtaining the required clearances. Failure to do so will result in the withdrawal of the employment offer.

Responsibilities

  • Perform aerodynamic analyses using 1-D and 3D CFD simulations to support and design the aerodynamic installation of gas turbine engines including inlets and exhausts.
  • Prepare and execute engine and aircraft level testing to validate aerodynamic performance.
  • Demonstrate compliance to engine certification requirements, prepare certification reports.
  • Support advanced design studies of new concepts and engine applications
  • Understand system level concepts related to the installation effects on engine operability and performance.
