About The Position

Metro Infectious Disease Consultants is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse to supervise and administer infusion therapy at its clinic in Jonesboro, Georgia. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The position offers work/life balance, competitive pay, a casual environment, and the opportunity to work with a large practice experiencing continued growth.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Current Georgia RN license.
At least two years of RN office practice experience.
Infusion experience.
Proof of current vaccinations, including recommended boosters commonly required for work with immunocompromised patients: measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis A and B, influenza, and COVID-19.

Nice To Haves

RN office practice experience in an infusion-related practice is preferred.
Chemo experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Place peripheral lines for new patients and teach infusion patients how to self-administer medications, documenting the work in the medical record.
Review and chart daily laboratory results and relay information to physicians and/or patients as needed.
E-prescribe prescriptions at a doctor's direction and communicate with pharmacies.
Receive and return patient and other telephone calls.
Review EMR charts for the next day's appointments, order laboratory results, consult reports, or notes as necessary, and complete required EMR fields for meaningful use.
Respond to telephone calls, meet patients in the office, and schedule office visits as needed.
Participate in quality assurance and educational activities as requested.
Use clinical judgment in evaluation activities to meet patient care needs and establish priorities.
Monitor the safety and effectiveness of the environment and equipment.
Participate in activities that facilitate good interpersonal communication within the facility.
Support professional practice by following nursing practice standards, JCAHO requirements, applicable state and local laws, and MIDC policy.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
