About The Position

Palo Alto Mind Body is an innovative, compassionate mental wellness practice serving the San Francisco Bay Area. The practice views mental and physical health as strongly intertwined and prioritizes high-quality patient care and service. The Infusion Nurse is an important part of the clinical team and will start IVs, administer medications, monitor patients, and provide individualized personal care throughout treatment. The ideal candidate has excellent IV-start skills and is patient- and service-oriented, professional, compassionate, reliable, energetic, friendly, organized, and able to multitask. This is a part-time, in-person position, and the nurse must be available Fridays. The clinic's primary hours are 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; actual schedules may vary based on patient scheduling. The patient base is entirely outpatient.

Requirements

• Active California nursing license as a Registered Nurse (RN) or LVN.
• Superior IV-start skills.
• BLS/ACLS certification.
• No pending actions by the California Board of Nursing or any other state's board of nursing.
• Comfort with technology including Chromebooks, G Suite, secure messaging, and EHR/EMR systems.
• Positive, caring, empathic demeanor and professional, compassionate communication.
• Commitment to COVID safety protocols.
• Proof of COVID vaccination before starting employment.
• Must be available Fridays.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience managing psychiatric patients, treatments, and medication.

Responsibilities

• Start IVs and administer medications.
• Monitor and record vital signs and other patient medical information.
• Provide individualized personal care to patients throughout their treatment.
• Assist with patient transport within the clinic, including pushing patients in a wheelchair.
• Communicate effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and clinic staff.
• Follow HIPAA policies and best practices and comply with the clinic's COVID safety protocols.
